The aim of the present study was to analyze the immunological response of hydroxyapatite (HA) to RAW264.7 cells by determining HA-induced phagocytosis. Immunological parameters included in this study were the role of polymerization of actin and microtubule, protein kinase-C (PKC), nitric oxide (NO), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α). The results showed that HA were phagocytosed by murine macrophage cell line (RAW264.7 cells) at different incubation time.
